Welcome to my website.  I’m Jack Neely.Jack Neely

LinuxCzar is a place for some of my technical thoughts, open source projects, and articles. Most of which are inspired by my place of work as a Linux Systems Architect at a university.

Create an account, login and comment.  Take a look at the Open Source projects.  Feel free to participate.

I get a lot of feedback from having my resume online.  So for you folks interested it is linked to below.  There is an online version and a formal version suitable for printing.  The formal version is written in LaTeX and you can find the source in my personal subversion repository.

I used to have a fairly popular collection of information about Pascal programming in DOS.  This was back in my high school days quite some time ago.  If you are looking for something I have done in the past feel free to give me an email.

Otherwise, I currently work at NC State University in the Office of Information Technology (OIT).  In this position my main reason for existence is to create and manage Realm Linux and guide NCSU in its usage of Linux and Open Source.  Most of what I have to do involves supporting and leading the Linux movement on campus.  For this reason I have created Campus Linux Services which contains much information about the projects I work on, much source code, and information.

Away from work I spend much time making music.  While systems administration is what I do as a career, music is my real passion.  I sing tenor in the North Carolina Master Chorale. I also sing at Christ Church, which is my place of worship, and do various gigs around the great city of Raleigh, NC including an opera or three with Capital Opera.  I am also an affiliate of the Royal School of Church Music.
