About
I’m Jack Neely.
So probably the biggest reason that you are reading this page is that for some o dd reason you want to contact me. Hopefully, you’ll say something useful about this site or contribute to the Open Source projects here. My email address is:
- jjneely at linuxczar dot net
I get a lot of feedback from having my resume online. So for you folks interested it is linked to below. There is an online version and a formal version suitable for printing. The formal version is written in LaTeX and you can find the source in my personal subversion repository.
As noted on my previous web sites I used to have a fairly popular collection of information about Pascal programming in Dos. This was back in my high school days quite some time ago. I don’t believe in keeping out dated mess on the web site so that information is now gone. If you are looking for something I have done in the past feel free to give me an email.
Otherwise, I currently work at NC State University in the Information Technology Division (ITD). In this position my main reason for existence is to create and manage Realm Linux and guide NCSU in its usage of Open Source. Most of what I have to do involves supporting and leading the Linux movement on campus. For this reason I have created Campus Linux Services which contains much information about the projects I work on, much source code, and information.
Away from work I spend much time making music. While systems administration is what I do as a career, music is a real passion. I sing tenor in the North Carolina Master Chorale. I also sing at Christ Church, which is my place of worship, and do various gigs around the great city of Raleigh, NC including an opera or three with Capital Opera. I am also an affiliate of the Royal School of Church Music.
